What Does a Content Creator Do for Events? (& Why Your Business Needs One)

If you’re hosting (or speaking at) an event on the Central Coast, in Newcastle or surrounds — whether it’s a launch, pop-up, open day or community activation — you’ve likely put a lot of time, money and effort into making it a success. But what happens after the event? Do you have high-quality, engaging content that actually shows people what it was like to be there?

That’s where a content creator comes in (AKA, Moi )

So, what exactly is an event content creator?

An event content creator captures the feel and flow of your event through social-first video and photo content. Think of it as having someone on-site who’s looking through the eyes of your future audience — whether they’re potential customers, collaborators or media outlets.

I create short-form content for events — often designed to be used for Instagram Reels, TikToks, stories, and post-event wrap-ups. Unlike a traditional videographer who may take weeks to deliver a long (yet, beautifully polished) video, my focus is on speed, social-readiness, and storytelling. Your (iPhone, shot) content can be ready in days, not weeks.

What kinds of events do I film?

I’ve worked on a wide range of events including:

  • Shopping centre activations (Book Week social content for our local shopping centre and a pop-up thrift store event).

  • Local festivals and community events (Naturellement, local food and wine 3-day festival run by It’s Neighbourgood in April 2025).

  • Brand pop-ups and retail launches at Trade shows such as Online Retailer and #Shippit

  • Intimate workshops or ticketed experiences (Founder-led presentations and influencer events).

Whether you want to show off the crowd, highlight your decor and branding, or capture kids and families engaging with your brand — I’ll help you create content that lives beyond the event itself.

Why hire a content creator instead of just filming it yourself?

You might be tempted to hand your phone to a staff member or hope attendees tag you in a few posts. But DIY footage often misses the moments that matter — or worse, makes your brand look unpolished. I’ve seen countless examples of content that is posted which looks shaky, dark and just not engaging to watch.

When I’m behind the camera, I’m thinking about your brand’s aesthetic, audience, and purpose. I come with a shot list, creative ideas, and a fast-paced but friendly filming style that gets results — without interrupting your event.

Plus, if you or your staff are camera-shy or overwhelmed, I bring a nervous system-informed approach to make the experience feel calm, collaborative and even fun.

After the event: what do you get?

Each event package is tailored, but generally includes:

  • The raw footage and/or 1 or 2 fully edited ‘Overview’ reels (depending on scope)

  • Optional still images for socials or press

  • Delivery within 5 business days (faster options available)

Ready to make your next event seen

If you’re based on the Central Coast, Newcastle or Sydney and need a content creator who understands both strategy and storytelling, I’d love to help.

📍 I’m based on the Central Coast and happily service Newcastle, the Hunter and Sydney for events.
